At Organic Basics, we believe in saving the environment whenever it is possible. Recent studies show that garments will be just as clean at 40 degrees with appropriate washing powder as it will be with higher temperatures. We urge you to give the environment a thought when you wash your clothes. Don’t wash unless it is necessary, use a good detergent and wash with the lowest degree possible. However, our basics are durable enough for you to wash them at 60 degrees.
Only the best materials are good enough for the holiest part of the body! That is why we believe that underwear always should be organic.
Only the best materials are good enough for the holiest part of the body! That is why we believe in only using fabrics of the highest standard.
Our boxer briefs, t-shirts, triangle bra and bikini briefs are all made of 95% premium organic cotton. The remaining 5% elastane is for stretch and to stay tight all day. Not to be forgotten, no scratchy washing label.
Our socks are made of 80% organic combed cotton with optimum fit through 18% fine thread nylon and a nip on 2% elastane. Made with reinforced stress zones in the toe and heel.
Our SilverTech Everyday line is made with GOTS certified organic cotton and a silver coated polyester thread.
Our SilverTech Active wear is made with recycled nylon and then treated with a safe, Bluesign® approved recycled silver salt called Polygiene®.
Only the best craftsman can create the world’s best basics. In collaboration with our manufacturers, we put constant pressure on ourselves to keep pushing for a higher level of sustainability, environmentally as well as socioeconomically. Our goal is to minimize the impact our fabrics have on the environment, the factory workers, and on the human body. We’re also focused on making sure our factories are a good place to work. Humans deserve to be treated like humans, and we wouldn’t want to partner with anything else.
We don’t have trust issues, but when it comes to sustainable fashion, you want to be extra careful not to team up with the pretenders. We only work with certified factories, and some of their certifications are listed here.
The waste of packaging materials is enormous and it will stay around for a long time, polluting our world. We won’t contribute to more plastic ending up in our ocean and nature. That is why we send you 100% recycled packaging. We encourage you put the paper in the right container and to reuse the envelope for your next parcel to help save the environment.
Yes! You can mix colors and sizes when buying our packs.
No, we don’t use nanosilver in/on our products. The technology we use is a polyamide fiber coated in silver, which makes it permanent. The silver will not end up in water, or on your skin. It is perfectly safe to wear.
The effect of SilverTech can vary from person to person, depending on how much and how strong our body odours are. Technically you can wear our SilverTech products for over 1 week without washing. However body hygiene is a very personal matter. So where one person can wear Silvertech for a month without having the need to wash, others might feel that need after just a few days. Less washing will save the environment a lot of water and CO2 – nice!
SilverTech is made from a polyamide fiber coated with silver and spun together with organic cotton. The silver is knitted into products and does not disappear over time. The effect of the silver is tested to last longer than the lifetime of the textile products. It works this way: when silver is experiencing a little moisture it will release silver ions. These ions will kill bacterias on the surface of the fabric and prevent new bacteria growth.
